Module 10

Unfortunately I missed the last tutorial in the classroom environment.
I find that Bloom's taxonomy is very helpful as it caters for students who are at different stages of learning. This resource is keeping pace with the digital world. Digital technology is used in the classroom on a daily basis. It heightens the need to create programs and activites for our students that stimulate and promote their learning.
Tools such as Second Life could be placed in the creating level of Bloom's (need skills of design, constructing, planning).
Flickr placed in understanding level as we need skills for seraching and retrieving graphics.
Mind mapping in analysing level because of organising and outlining.

Web 2.0 tools have opened my eyes to applications such as Blogs, Delicious, Scootle, Flickr and Wikis. Being a member of an online community to share ideas and participate in collarorative learning in new and exciting. As with recent correspndence university studies, this 'new' form of learning enables me to share ideas, network with others and explore for personal and classroom use.
Thankyou for the opportunity to explore the new tools available. I look forward to having 'time' to now explore further the mediums that have been studied over the past weeks.

Module 9

We use scootle at school and it is a very useful tool for student learning, particularly for special needs children. The search and browse function assists in finding resources for lessons. The linking with others tools will save time and promotes the social aspect of sharing with other teachers.
Social networking is amazing and slightly additive...and I'm only new at it. I am fascinated how people know you have a site! I will now explore twitter and second life further.

Module 8: I can understand how they say RSS formatting can be addictive. Although saving time, I had lots of fun looking at many interesting sites. Instead of just looking at recipes, I decided to be more specific and looked up Julia Child's recipes, following the movie. I also looked up educational sites and subscribe to some smartboard links. Now RSS formats allows me to be update and subscribe to many sites instead of regularly looking them up myself. Many familar sites are on the one page and I just have to decide what interests me.
I looked through the site links in module 8 although needed to be careful as many sites were undesirable for educational purposes.
Another interesting tool I look forward to using both personally and for classroom use.

Module 7

What a web we have out there...
All this communicating...bring back the phone!!!!only....
I navigated my way around Nicole's delicious site and I liked how after locating sites I liked I could then save them into my delicious site. This will narrow things down so I can become more organsied. The tags helped me move around quickly through the bookmarks. I bookmarked some educational sites which will be of assistance for me and my class.

Module 6

Today was frustrating as the internet site keep closing and I lost my work or my work continually froze. I got further and further behind. It is an interesting tool I could use in the classroom to assist students with their planning. It would be especially good for those students who are creative.
Add glogster of my favourite things

Module 5

Today we learnt about podcast and vodcasts and how we can download for many purposes such as download to i pod. Because of school privaacy etc we did not look at itunes, so more homework to check and see at home. We then embedded a video as recorded above into our blog account. It was interesting viewing all the different sites and videos availble and I think this will be rewarding for the children to view and also learn to do themselves.

Module 3
Today we learnt about googleDocs and how to make a link in order to chat and share with others. There may be some limitations with this as security may be an issue. Also different school filters may restrict use. I could see this used in the classroom as the class could share work, add to and edit each others work. This could also be ideal for analysis of surveys the class have organised.
